Police investigation launched after man’s body found in Leicester house

A man’s body was found in a house in the Northfields area of the city yesterday.

The body was found at around 3pm inside a property on Northfield Road, near Gipsy Lane.

Officers cordoned off the property as forensic specialists carried out an investigation of the scene.

Police have said that they are treating the death as ‘unexplained’ and enquires are ongoing.


A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: “Officers received a report regarding concern for the welfare of a man at a property in Northfield Road, Leicester.”

“A man was found deceased at the property by the ambulance service just before 3pm.”

“The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are being carried out to establish the circumstances of the death.”

“A scene preservation remains in place at the property.”
