Man and woman injured after masked men raid their Leicester home

Two people were left injured after masked men broke into a property in the Hamilton area of the city.

A man in his 30’s and a woman in her 20’s were taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

The burglary happened between 11.07pm and 11.20pm on Friday 16 August at a property in Marsham Close in Hamilton.

The men gained entry to the property and then made threats towards the occupants. They were armed with a cricket bat and a broom handle.

A number of items were stolen in the robbery including a gold chain which had two pendants, other jewellery items and a pink handbag which had a purse in it containing a credit card.

The suspects are believed to be white and were wearing black clothing with their faces covered.

The victims managed to make their way out of the property and the burglars then left the scene making their way to nearby Saxthorne Road, where they are reported to have left the area in a silver car.

Police enquires remain ongoing into the incident however officers would like to hear from anyone who may information regarding the break-in.

Detective Constable Gemma Dempsey said: “The victims managed to make their way out into the street and therefore it is understood a number of people were alerted to the incident.”

“We would ask anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to check on this to see if you have anything which could help us.”
