A woman was violently attacked during a burglary at a property in Knighton over the weekend.
Three masked men gained entry to the property on Yardley Drive by smashing a glass door panel just before 7pm on Sunday 11 March.
The men subjected the woman to a violent attack, breaking her arm and throwing cleaning products in her eyes, before stealing an amount of jewellery from the property.
Two of the burglars were white and one black. As soon as they left the property, the woman called the police. She was then taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
The woman’s daughter posted a message on Facebook requesting help. She said: “Last night (Sunday) at 6.40pm 3 burglars smashed my parents’ front door with a hammer, entered and found my 63-year-old mother alone and proceeded to beat her as they stole cash and jewellery.”
“When they couldn’t find enough, they punched her in the head repeatedly. They twisted her arm until it broke to get a bangle off. She fought back and scratched so they bleached her hands, cut all her nails off and threatened to slit her throat.”
“They threw cleaning products in her eyes to try and blind her. They left just after 7pm. There were 3 men, 2 white and 1 black. One of the white guys was wearing a lilac suit and pinkish shirt with black suede shoes. The other two in sportswear.”
Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
