Four men charged with murder of Belgrave jeweller

Four men have been charged with the murder of jeweller Ramniklal Jogiya, who was kidnapped as he walked home from his shop.

The four had previously been charged with the kidnap, robbery and manslaughter of Mr Jogiya earlier this year.

Thomas Jervis, 24, of Enderby Road, Whetstone, Leicester; Charles Frances Mcauley, 20, of Gooding Avenue, Leicester; Callan Reeve, 20, of Aylmer Road, Leicester; and Javon Roach, 30, of Norwich Road, Leicester, were all charged today (Tuesday 15 May) with murdering Ramniklal Jogiya in January this year.

They are due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Friday 18 May.

Mr Jogiya, 74, was reported missing by his family on the evening of Wednesday 24 January when he failed to return home having closed his jewellery store in Belgrave Road.

His body was discovered in Gaulby Lane, Stoughton, the following morning.

Mr Jogiya was a married father of three who lived in the Belgrave area. He was due to retire from his jewellery shop business soon.
