Men found drinking in car in Leicester, breaking lockdown rules

Three men were found in a car drinking by Police last night, breaking the coronavirus lockdown rules.

The men were spotted “drinking away” in a car on Harrison Road in Belgrave yesterday (Wednesday 8 April).

On seeing the Police, the man in the driver’s seat tried to drive the car away, but could not get it started.

Police ended up seizing the vehicle because the car was uninsured.

Officers from the Belgrave and Rushey Mead Police team posted their finding on Facebook to warn other people from breaking the rules.

They said: “Another car off the road, three males sat in a car breaking the Covid-19 advice, drinking away, the driver also tried to drive away but couldn’t make it go…oh and no insurance! Bye bye car.”

No further details were provided in terms of fines for the men or if any further action was taken.
