Men charged with murder of Leicester jeweller enter pleas

Two men from Leicester have admitted their part in the robbery and kidnap of Belgrave road jeweller, Ramniklal Jogiya.

Callan Reeve, 19, and Thomas Jervis, 24, both pleaded guilty when they appeared at Leicester Crown Court yesterday (Friday May 18).

Both men admitted they took part in the kidnap and robbery of the city jeweller in January, however, they both deny the charge of murder/manslaughter.

The two are part of a group of four charged with the kidnap, robbery, murder/manslaughter of Mr Jogiya.

The other two men, Javon Roach, 30, and Charles Frances Mcauley, 20, entered not guilty pleas to all the charges at the court hearing

The 74-year-old jeweller, from Brandon Street was kidnapped after closing his shop on Belgrave Road in January.

When he failed to return home, his family reported him missing. Mr Jogiya’s body was found the following morning in Gaulby Lane, Stoughton.
