Shocking footage of a gang of masked men wielding baseball bats and viciously attacking a young woman in Leicester has emerged.
Police are investigating the ‘incident of violent disorder’, after the woman and her brother were attacked outside their family home. They both needed hospital treatment after the attack.
The incident happened at 6pm on Saturday 17 November at an address on Harrison Road in Belgrave.
A mob of fifteen people attacked a blue BMW 116 I Sport car outside the house with baseball bats. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries to his fingers and arm when he was hit as he got out of the car.
After hearing the commotion a 24-year-old woman, believed to be the drivers sister, came out of a property on Harrison Road.
She was forced to fend off attacks from the gang, who continued to smash the car and lunge at her with bats. She sustained injuries to her face and arm during the incident.
Police said the group of people involved in the attack were wearing facial coverings and left the scene on foot heading towards Catherine Street.
Police have been carrying out extensive enquiries since the incident was reported to identify who was responsible.
Sergeant Jo Harland, said: “This was a frightening experience for both victims and they have been left understandably shaken by their ordeal.”
“We would like to appeal to anyone who thinks they may know who was responsible to get in touch and tell us what they know.”
“Any information no matter how insignificant you believe it to be could assist with our enquiries.”
