Motorcyclist killed in crash in Leicestershire

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Fenny Drayton yesterday (Friday 12 April).

The collision involved a motorcycle and a white Mercedes Sprinter van and took place on the A444 at around 11.20am.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s believed he was from the Burton area. The van driver was uninjured in the incident.

A section of the A444 through the village was closed to allow officers to carry out enquiries. The road has since reopened.

The fatal crash is being investigated by Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Detective Constable Louise McMahon said: “I would like to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A444 around the time of the incident and who have not yet contacted police.”

“If you saw the collision take place, or either vehicle beforehand, then please get in touch. Likewise, if you have a dashcam in your vehicle, please check for any footage that may help our investigation.”
