A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a baby in Leicestershire.
The 28-year-old woman was charged today after the body of the newborn was discovered at a property in Hinckley last April.
Hannah Cobley, of Broughton Road, Stoney Stanton appeared at Leicester Magistrates Court charged in connection with the death of the 32-week-old baby.
Detectives have not released the gender of the baby or wether the woman charged was the mother of the newborn.
A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: “A 28-year-old woman has today (Thursday 30 August) been charged with murder following the death of a newborn baby.”
“The body of the baby was found in the Hinckley area of Leicestershire on Sunday 30 April last year.”
“Hannah Cobley, of Broughton Road, Stoney Stanton, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today charged in connection with the death.”
