A pedestrian was hit by a car on Leicester’s Narborough Road this morning, leading to the closure of the busy route for motorists.
The incident occurred near the Braunstone Gate and Hinckley Road junction, with these roads being used to divert the traffic following the accident.
Emergency Services were at the scene dealing with the incident.
Leicestershire Police confirmed the incident involved a pedestrian and a vehicle and indicated an air ambulance may be needed to take the victim to hospital.
A spokesman for the Police said: “We have received a report of an incident involving a car and pedestrian in Hinckley Road/Narborough Road north. East Midlands Ambulance Service are on route to the scene and an air ambulance may need to be called.”
No further details have been released on the victim or their injuries.
The road was reopened at around midday, after the recovery work was completed.
