Pedestrian hit by car in Oadby dies in hospital

A pedestrian who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Oadby has died.

The collision, involving the 52-year-old man and a car, happened just after midnight on Monday 2 April, on the A6 Harborough Road at the junction with Queens Street in Oadby.

Police say a white BMW 520d was travelling along the A6 county bound when it collided with the man.

He was taken to Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre for treatment, however he died of his injuries.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Detective Constable Pete Davies, from the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Very sadly the pedestrian has died following the collision on Monday.”

“Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue and we would still like to speak to anyone who remembers seeing the involved vehicle being driven beforehand or the pedestrian or the collision itself.”
