Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car on Narborough Road

A man is seriously ill in hospital after being hit by a car in the early hours of this morning.

The 52-year-old was injured as he crossed Narborough Road, near its junction with Rowley Fields Avenue, at about 1am.

The pedestrian was taken to the University Hospital Coventry with what are described as ‘serious’ injuries.

A 25 year old man from Leicester has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.


The road was closed from 2.37am to 6.23am to allow officers to forensically examine the scene.

Detective Constable Pete Davies said: “We were called at 1am this morning (Saturday 29 September) following reports that a man was lying in Narborough Road near to its junction with Rowley Fields Avenue.”

“We are appealing for anyone who saw a white SEAT Leon driving around the area of Narborough Road, Fulhurst Avenue and Rowley Fields Avenue before one o’clock this morning.”

“If you saw the car, witnessed the collision or have any dashcam footage we would like to hear from you.”
