A pedestrian has died following a collision with a lorry on the M69.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by the HGV at about 7pm yesterday.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene of the incident, near Junction 2 for Hinckley, of the southbound carriageway of the M69.
The southbound carriageway was closed for almost seven hours while police carried out their investigations.
Road traffic police had also closed off the northbound carriageway, between Junction 1 and the M1 Junction 21, for about an hour while the incident was being dealt with.
Police reopened the southbound carriageway in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire police said: “Officers were called just after 6.55pm yesterday following a collision on the M69.”
“Police and the ambulance service attended. The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.”
