Person flown to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after crash in Leicestershire

A person had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on a country lane.

The incident occurred on Stretton Road, between Great Glen and Houghton on the Hill. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, leading to some road closures in the area.

Fire crews from Leicester and Wigston were sent to the scene. Three people had to be cut free from their vehicles by firefighters.

Leicestershire Police said one person had serious injuries and had been flown to Coventry hospital by air ambulance, while two others had suffered minor injuries in the crash. All roads have now re-opened.
