Three men have been arrested after an armed police chase in Leicester city centre.
Police received reports of a group of men acting suspiciously in a car in the Hamilton area of the city at 1:00am on Friday morning.
A Police team were deployed, however the vehicle had left the scene.
The car was later found unoccupied close to Eastern Boulevard, near Leicester city centre.
While searching the vehicle, a second car that was in the area made off from the scene.
A pursuit was authorised by armed Police, who had the authority to use a taser. The vehicle was stopped shortly afterwards and the three occupants of the car – two aged 23 and one aged 24, all from Leicester – were arrested.
The three men remain in custody on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
