Police are continuing their investigation this morning after a body was found in a Leicestershire village yesterday.
Police were called to Markfield Lane in Botcheston at 1:18pm yesterday afternoon, after a body was found by the side of the road.
The road was closed at the junction with Reservoir Road and Hunt Close for several hours as investigations continued and reopened just before 10pm.
A Police cordon remains in place this morning on a stretch of the road, next to a wooded area, where officers can be seen examining the scene.
A tent has been erected in the woodlands close to the activity.
A number of Police cars and support vehicles are blocking one of the lanes, where the cordon is in place. Traffic has been restricted to a single lane there.
A police spokeswoman said officers were trying to “establish the circumstances surrounding the find and the identity of the deceased”.
