Police name driver killed in car crash in Leicestershire

Police have named the 35-year-old man who died following a road traffic collision over the weekend.

He has been named as David Gallagher from Whitwick, Leicestershire.

Police were called at around 7.20pm on Sunday 15 October, following a three vehicle crash involving a red Kia, a grey Polo and a black BMW 118.

David sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No one else was injured in the incident.

David was driving the red Kia on Leicester Road, towards Whitwick, when it collided with the Volkswagen Polo, which was travelling in the opposite direction, towards Copt Oak.

The BMW was also traveling towards Copt Oak and collided with debris in the road.

Detectives are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward who saw the vehicles immediately prior to the collision, or the collision itself.
