A teenager who was fatally stabbed in Hinckley yesterday has been named by Police.
18-year-old Joshua Taylor was found lying injured in Sword Drive in the early hours of yesterday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination was carried out and found Joshua died of a single stab wound.
A 17-year-old boy who was arrested shortly after the incident has now been charged with Joshua’s murder.
He has also been charged with possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
He has been remanded into custody where he will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Principal Richard Cahill, of Hinckley Academy, said the victim was a former student and there was “sadness and anger” felt by the community.
Students and staff from the school have left tributes near the scene, including a school tie in a bunch of flowers.
One message on a card read: “You will be missed. From all at Hinckley Academy xxx.”
