Police name woman murdered in Leicestershire flat as man is charged

A woman who was found dead in a flat in Measham has been named by police. A 54-year-old man has been charged with her murder.

Tracey Evans, 52, was discovered at a flat in High Street after officers were called to the address on Monday 6 August. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeremy Clarke from High Street, Measham, has been remanded to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court today (Wednesday).

A 39-year-old man who was also arrested on suspicion of murder was released from custody with no further action taken.

The flat is still cordoned off while officers continue to examine the scene.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information, as they piece together the circumstances that led to the woman’s death
