Police investigating the disappearance of a woman have focused their search around the Grand Union Canal in Loughborough.
The 43-year-old was reported missing on 10 September and a Police search has been underway to find her.
However, their enquiries have now moved to the town’s waterways and are being assisted by dogs which are specially-trained to detect people in water.
Detective Inspector Simon Boden, from the Missing Persons Operations Team, said: “Our enquiries to date have not been able to determine Linda’s whereabouts.”
“While we have spoken to a number of people who have provided us with information, our searches are now focussed on the Grand Union Canal in Loughborough.”
“Specialist dogs which are trained to carry out such searches have been brought in to assist officers on the ground.”
Police are continuing to appeal for any information regarding the disappearance of Ms Chambers and would like to speak to anyone who can help with their enquiries to get in touch.
Linda is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall and has shoulder-length brown hair. She also wears glasses. She is known to regularly visit Queen’s Park in Loughborough as well as a gift shop in Churchgate.
