Queen’s wedding dresses on show in Leicester to mark her 70th wedding anniversary

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary yesterday and to mark the occasion Leicester Cathedral are hosting an exhibition, called ‘Crown of Love’.

The exhibition showcases wedding dresses marking each decade of the Queen and Prince Philip’s marriage, as well as bouquets and flowers.

The 21-year-old Princess married the Duke at Westminster Abbey 70 years ago. Their platinum anniversary marks the longest marriage in royal history.

The Queen and Prince Philip spent the day quietly at Windsor Castle where they were joined by close family and friends to celebrate the occasion. The Leicester Cathedral exhibition is free and runs until Thursday 23 November.
