Sam Bailey was rushed to hospital after being knocked out by a ladder while trying to retrieve a suitcase from her loft.
Sam, who is starring in the panto Beauty and the Beast at De Montfort Hall, left fans concerned over New Year after revealing she had suffered a nasty accident that left her unconscious.
She was was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where she had a CT scan and was then later released.
Taking to social media to reassure fans that she is ‘on the mend’, the vocal talent, 40, shared a worrying snap of herself strapped to a stretcher, as she revealed she had been rushed to hospital.
She was pictured wearing a neck brace with her body strapped down and sharing the snap on Instagram, the star penned alongside her post: ‘So this was me tonight! Unconscious! CT scan and after finding out my skull is still intact I’ve decided im not going to go in the loft again!’
A spokesperson for Sam revealed she had been struck by the loft ladder as it sprung back and knocked her unconscious.
The singing sensation made sure to thank the hospital staff that had treated her, as she added: ‘Thank you to all the staff and ambulance crew at Leicester royal infirmary x after a scary night I have to say I’m so proud of our nhs staff for all they do!!!’
Sam, from Leicestershire, first found fame on The X Factor in 2013, before going on to become a hit in the musical production of Chicago.
