Police have made a second arrest after the discovery of a suspicious package found yesterday in a car in Leicester.
Emergency services rushed to Huntingdon Road in Northfields yesterday, after reports of a suspicious item being found in a parked, red Peugeot on the road.
Officers had cordoned off Huntingdon Road and other adjacent streets, as a precaution, whilst technicians from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit (EOD) examined the item.
Residents living in a 50m zone were evacuated for a short time.
Police arrested a 26-year-old local man yesterday in connection with the incident, he remains in custody, where he is being questioned by officers.
This afternoon (Tuesday 5 June) a 22-year-old man from Leicester was arrested in connection with the incident.
The incident is not being treated as terror-related.
