Leicestershire Police have issued a statement after a teenage boy from the Evington area of the city died.
Emergency services were called to an address off Downing Drive yesterday at about 5.25pm. An air ambulance was also present at the scene along with paramedics.
The teenager who hasn’t been named was taken to hospital by ambulance where he subsequently died. Police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement, Leicestershire Police said: “Police were called by East Midlands Ambulance Service at 5.25pm yesterday to an address in Durston Close, Leicester, following a report of a teenager who had been taken ill.”
“Officers attended along with the air ambulance and he was taken to hospital by road where he subsequently died.”
A file for the coroner is being prepared.
