Teenager sentenced for raping and murdering woman in Leicester

A teenager who raped and then strangled his victim in a brutal attack at her home in Leicester has been sentenced this afternoon.

Curtis Moyse, from Rowlatts Hill, has also been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after he set the flat on fire before fleeing the scene.

Police and the Fire Service were called to the property on Mere Road in Highfields on the morning of Friday 12 April.

When the emergency services entered the flat, they found the badly beaten body of Leah Fray, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem found 27-year-old Leah had been raped and strangled in a sadistic and vicious attack.

Moyse was only 17-years-old when he attacked Leah.
