Police have cordoned off a road in the Clarendon Park area of the city after a stabbing this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Hartopp Road at around 12:35pm after reports that a teenager had been stabbed.
The teenager was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A cordon is currently in place near to a shop on Hartopp Road and Howard Road.
A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: Police were called at around 12.35pm today (Friday 11 October) to a report of a stabbing in Hartopp Road in Leicester.”
“Officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service and a 16-year-old was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.”
“His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.”
“Enquiries to identify and locate the suspect are ongoing.“
