Tickets for Leicester’s spectacular festive ice rink are now on sale, as the countdown to Christmas gets under way.
Featuring real ice, the attraction will be a key part of the city’s Christmas celebrations and will sit at the heart of a winter wonderland in Jubilee Square.
The spectacular ice rink will open to the public on Saturday 9 December. It will be huge 30×15 metres long and feature a clear roof, allowing people to skate whatever the weather.
People who want to buy tickets as gifts, or who are keen to reserve their slot on the ice, can snap them up now.
Skate hire with a 45-minute session on the ice will cost £8 for adults and £6.50 for children/concessions at off-peak times (11am-4pm Monday to Friday). Tickets for all other times will cost £9 for adults and £7.50 for children/concessions.
A 10% discount will be offered for groups of four people or more.
Each session starts on the hour, allowing 15 minutes for people to change in and out of their ice skates, with a full 45 minutes on the ice.
Penguin-shaped skating aids will be available for younger skaters to hire, and special themed nights – including Ice Discos – will be part of the busy events programme.
City centre director Sarah Harrison said: “After a nine-year gap, ice skating is making a welcome return to Leicester, and our real ice rink is set to be the centrepiece of our events programme this Christmas.”
The ice rink will be open between Saturday 9th December 2017 to Monday 8 January 2018 between 11am – 9pm (Last session 8.00pm). The ice rink will be closed on Christmas Day.
