Police have arrested two people after the death of a five-year-old boy in Loughborough.
The young boy was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday 27 August, with a head injury.
The boy was transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but died of his injuries yesterday evening (30 August).
The incident happened off Nanpantan Road in Loughborough.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained and police are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
Police had arrested two adults in connection with the incident, they have since been released pending further investigation.
Detectives are appealing for information and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Nanpantan Road in the afternoon and evening of Saturday.
