Two men have been arrested following the stabbing of a teenage boy in Loughborough in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Ratcliffe Road at around 4.40am this morning (Sunday 17 June). On arrival, they found a 15-year-old boy with a stab wound to his leg.
The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The area was cordoned off this morning as officers carried out their investigations. The cordon around Ratcliffe Road and Glebe Road has since been lifted, however an area of Burder Street still remains closed.
The two men arrested are from Loughborough and are aged 24 and 29. They have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
Local residents said they heard ‘shouting and screaming’ in the early hours of this morning, and a short while later police and ambulance sirens. Many expressed concern at the increasing levels of crime in the area.
If anyone witnessed the incident or knows anything about the circumstances leading up to it, they are asked to contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
