Police have named the woman who died after falling from a bridge on the A46 in Leicestershire last week.
Elizabeth Forbes, who was 38-years-old and from Loughborough, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the A46 just after 1pm on Thursday 26 September.
It is believed Ms Forbes was struck by a passing van after falling from the bridge. The two incidents were reported to Police simultaneously.
A post mortem carried out on Ms Forbes at Leicester Royal Infirmary proved inconclusive and further tests are due to take place.
The driver of the van was not injured in the incident.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The incidents were seconds apart.
The woman fell from the bridge, then after she had fallen, she was struck by the white van.”
“The van driver was not injured in the incident. The woman was not struck by any other vehicle.”
