A woman has been injured after being hit by a car in Leicester city centre this morning (Sunday 14 October).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened on Churchgate at the junction with Gravel Street.
The accident happened shortly after 6am, when a blue Volkswagen Golf collided with the pedestrian.
The 19-year-old woman was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
Three men, two aged 19 and a 20-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. They remain in custody.
Sergeant Michael Young, of Leicestershire Police, said: “I’d like to ask for anyone who saw what happened to contact police. We believe that there were a group of people who were in the area at the time and officers would like to speak to them.”
