Woman killed in crash in Leicestershire

A woman has died following a collision in Leicestershire earlier today.

Police were called to the accident on Station Road in Stoney Stanton at 12.05pm today (Monday 7 January).

The collision involved two vehicles, a car and a van. The driver of the car died at the scene. 

The driver of the van has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening. 

Station Road, between Stoney Stanton and Elmesthorpe is currently closed while initial enquiries are carried out. The road is not expected to open before 6pm.

Anyone with any information about the collision is urged to call Leicestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 266 of 7/1/19.
