Woman killed in crash with taxi in Leicestershire

A woman has been killed after her car collided with a taxi in Leicestershire.

The accident happened at around 6.25pm on Moira Road in Ashby last night. The woman was driving a silver Ford Fusion which was involved in the crash with a grey Skoda Octavia taxi.

The woman was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries, where she subsequently died.

The driver and a passenger in the Skoda were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Ford Fusion was travelling along Moira Road towards Ashby and the taxi was travelling in the opposite direction.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw either vehicle beforehand.
