Woman sexually assaulted in Leicestershire

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Coalville.

The incident happened on Sunday 29 October at midnight. The woman, who’s in her early 40s, left a pub on London Road and made her way on foot towards Forest Road.

The woman was found at 2.30pm in a distressed state on a path in the London Road / Forest Road area. She then flagged a taxi down, which took her back to her home address.

After studying CCTV footage, Police have confirmed that a number of people walked down the road where the woman was.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of London Road / Forest Road in the early hours of Sunday morning to get in touch. Police would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a woman acting in a distressed manner.

Police are also trying to trace the taxi driver who helped the woman and have asked them to contact police as they believe they may have information which could help them with their investigation.
