Woman’s body found in Leicester; 19-year-old charged in connection with death

A teenager will appear in court today after a young woman’s body was found in a house in Leicester.

The woman’s body was discovered in a property on Hoby Street, off Tudor Road, on Sunday 27 May. She is believed to be her in her 20s.

Karol Leszczynski, 19, has been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body. He will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today.

A post mortem examination had been carried out and has proved inconclusive in determining how the woman died. Further tests are now being carried out.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: “Shortly before 7pm on Sunday, police responded to a call from a member of the public who reported that a woman had been found dead in a house in Hoby Street.”

“Upon arrival, officers found the body of a woman – believed to be in her 20s – in a bedroom in the house.”

“Two men who live at the property were arrested and have been interviewed by detectives.”

“A second man, aged 30, also from the address in Hoby Street, has been released from custody with no further action.”

Although officers believe they know the identity of the dead woman, formal identification has not yet taken place and her details will not be released until this process has been undertaken.
